#BackToSchoolBonanza2023

THIS COMPETITION HAS NOW CLOSED

In summer 2021, the #BackToSchoolBonanza took place. With well over £3000 worth of prizes from approximately 40 or so generous organisations and individuals, it was definitely one of the biggest giveaways on here. You can read the original blog to find out more about the donations, the donors as well as the three fabulous selectors here:

#BackToSchoolBonanza

This year… It’s back: the biggest #EduTwitter giveaway is here again!

Welcome to the Back To School Bonanza 2023! This blog launches the giveaway and shares the growing prize bundle. Terms and conditions are at the end of the blog.

So what’s the deal?

It’s super simple: I wanted to organise a huge back to school giveaway to kick off the 2021-22 academic year in style as I just felt that some happiness was needed. It all started with a Tweet that took off, followed by a lot of kindness and generosity, and finishing with three very happy individuals.

This year, it’s different: I’m arranging one big giveaway for one very lucky school. It’ll include coaching packages, CPD books and children’s literature amongst other super useful things, such as vouchers and free access to online platforms. You can see the full prize list later in this blog.

How do I enter?

All you need to do is comment the name of a school (plus a Twitter handle if possible, but just a name is sufficient) in the thread on the main Tweet. You don’t even have to work in education, you can just send a school some love! More nominations give a better chance of success, so retweet and tag in others to get involved. One lucky school will be chosen from the thread at random and named shortly after noon on Sunday 3rd September, so keep your fingers crossed and your eyes peeled! Schools tagged anywhere but the main thread will be not qualify, so please double check that you’re commenting on the main thread. Further details are in the terms and conditions below.

Who will choose the winners?

It would not be fair for me to select the winning school, as I will have friends entering the draw. Therefore I have asked an incredibly kind individual to select the winner at random (just like John Magee @KindnessCoach_, Rashmi Sirdeshpande @RashmiWriting and Richard O’Neill @therroneill did last time).

THE WONDERFUL IAN EAGLETON WILL BE SELECTING THIS YEAR’S WINNING SCHOOL!

Ian is a wonderful author of beautiful picture books and longer stories. With LGBTQ+ inclusive stories like Nen and the Lonely Fisherman and Glitter Boy, Ian’s brilliant books belong in every classroom library.

Ian’s upcoming book ‘Millie’s Big Decision’, illustrated by Max Rambaldi, is out on September 7th!

How will I know if I / my school have won?

I will contact you directly shortly after noon on Sunday 3rd September to give you the good news. You will also be tagged into the thread on Twitter, but I appreciate you might miss these so I will keep nagging you until I get in contact! Prizes will be sent directly from the donors to the school, therefore they will come within a number of weeks after you are notified about winning. Please contact me directly via Twitter (@MrHtheteacher) if any of your prizes have not arrived within 30 days.

I donated a prize. What do I do now?

If you donated a prize, then I will send the email address and postal address of the winning school directly to you via DM so you can send things directly to them. You can offer a prize right up until midnight on Saturday 2nd September. Please send all prizes within 30 days of September 2nd.

How can I donate, and what are the prizes?

Prizes are listed below, and the list is growing! You can drop me a DM at @MrHtheTeacher on Twitter if you’d like to make a donation at any time until midnight on Saturday 2nd September. I have listed business names, donors and Twitter handles next to the prizes, so please give everyone on the lists a follow if you’re here:
